Dr. Lila Davachi

COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY

“I got more than I was hoping for. I was hoping to get one image – the logo, but I'm actually more in love with the core concept illustration. I feel really proud that I was even a part of the experience of bringing it all together. It's like they reached into my brain and pulled out this beautiful picture. That was totally unexpected and added so much value. I didn’t think that I would be getting something so beautiful out of the process. It represents so much. It really captures a lot of complex ideas. I'm totally satisfied with the logo, that's what I expected to get, but the core concept, really, went above and beyond for me."

CORE CONCEPT ILLUSTRATION

Memory at its CORE -- the construction, organization and reactivation of experience.

"I found the time that we dedicated to talking through the core concept to be really useful for thinking at a level higher than I'm used to. It's so easy to be obsessed with the details. I'm always thinking about the most recent data, but I don't always take the time to think about where the big ideas are developing and what is actually emerging out of the work.”
